Pregnant? Congratulations! And welcome to Korein

You are getting ready for an amazing and very special time. And while you cherish every milestone, there is also a lot to think about. One of the decisions a lot of parents start thinking about early on is: which childcare will suit us best when the time comes?

At Korein, we are happy to help you decide.

When should you register for childcare?

Many parents don’t realise that childcare spaces can fill up quickly. That is why we recommend doing the research and registering early in your pregnancy, so you have the best possible chance of finding a childcare place for your baby when you go back to work.

Many parents enrol as soon as they know their due date and work schedule after leave. This is often around the 12th week of pregnancy.

What should you consider when choosing childcare?

Making a choice sometimes feels like a big task. These questions will help you decide:

  • What is the atmosphere like at the location? Does it feel warm and familiar?
  • Which pedagogical vision is used and does this match our wishes?
  • Does the group composition match what I would like for my baby?
  • What are the opening times and do they align with my job?
  • How is the communication with parents arranged?
  • Is there room for individual attention and individual development?

Our colleagues will show you around and take all the time you need to go through these questions with you.

FAQ

The first step into childcare: it’s all quite exciting and scary. Not just for children, but for parents and carers too. That is why we feel it is important to take plenty of time to settle in. We call this the settling-in period. During this three-month period, we create a safe environment and build trust, as well as a good relationship between the child, their parents, and the pedagogic professionals. Every child is unique and has unique needs. Carry on reading to find out exactly how we do this and what our settling-in vision is.

It is common for young children to sleep while they are with us at childcare. As such, it is important this is done in a safe and healthy manner. As and organisation, we follow the relevant laws and regulations. We also follow the guidelines from various bodies such as VeiligheidNL (Safety NL) and the NCJ (Nederlands Centrum Jeugdgezondheid, Dutch Centre for Youth Health).

We believe it is important that as a parent/carer, you are aware of the guidelines before your child receives childcare from us. Please read the guidelines below.

A healthy relationship with food and a varied diet: that is what we want for every child. With us, children are allowed to explore, experiment, and above all: do things independently. We give the right example and encourage children to try new flavours, consistencies, and foods. It is how we help children grow into healthy adults. Read all about our vision on healthy food here.
